And getting the photo straight is not easy, because some time you cannot trust your eyes. Camera cube comes to solve the problem by using the bubble level that construction contractor use.

You can attach the camera cube to any hot-shoe for flash or accessory attachment. So camera cube is not for many compact point-and-shoot digital cameras. The camera cube as three axes that help you get leveled photo both vertical and horizontal.

However, as the product photo shows, I wonder how you could possibly look into the view finder, and the same time look at the cube to see if it is leveled. So the camera cube are better used with tripod, where you can lock you composition and adjust the level. But there are tripod that come with the bubble level indicator.

You can pick the camera cube from photojojo for $15.

I am sure that there are many tips for night photography on the web. This is my version of night photography tips.

Use Tripod: Keeping your camera still and steady is a must for night photography, because the camera need more time for light to touch the sensor. Only a little bit of camera shake can ruin you photo. Although modern cameras come with high-ISO sensor, the besting to do in low light is still using tripod.

Exposure: The trick is to get enough light to touch the sensor. So you can eight set your camera to open the aperture wide, or have the shutter curtain open longer. For the effect such as motion blur you need to choose shutter to stay open longer.

Using Flash: It depend on what you want to capture. Usually flash will make your subject bright enough, but darken the back ground. Especially using low power built-in flash.

Manual Focus: Camera’s autofocus system tend to fail under low light. So the best way to avoid soft out-of-focus photo is to focus it manually. However under low light, even your eyes fails. If your camera has the live-shooting function turn it on and manually focus using 5X or 10X magnification.

ISO: If you have the advantage of tripod, there is no need to use high ISO. You should stay under ISO 400 because higher than this noises will be unacceptable. However if you don’t have a tripod you can go up to ISO800.

Use 2 seconds timer: Use 2 second delay in shutter release to eliminate vibration when you press the shutter button. Use this to substitute for remote shutter release cable.

Shoot in RAW: Getting exposure and white balance right is not easy with night photography. So be safe and flexible using RAW so you can enhance the picture later.

The horizon: Getting horizon right is tricky in night photography, because even with your eye you can’t tell where is the horizon. Most of my mistake in night photography is I focus my attention too much on the subject and light, I forget about getting horizon right.

Shoot more: Experiment with many shots until you’ll find what you’re looking for.

Night photography can be fun and tricky, the more you play with it the better result next time. So grab your camera and take more shots. I am sure this tips is not complete, if you have more tips please add comment.

Nikon Coolpix S1000pj will let you shoot photos in the day, and share the memory with your friends in the evening.

Small projector is a cool gadgets, but when combine with the camera there are mix responses in digital photography community.

I hope Canon will reply with this by adding coffee machine into new EOS (MatejMM on DPS)

One of the problem I personally concern about is the battery life. Most photographer prefer their battery life to last longer, but with built-in projector it would consume more power.

The new Nikon Coolpix S1000pj is available from Amazon for pre-order at S429.95, but availability and price differ from region to region.

Some other features:

12.1 megapixel

Maximum ISO6400

5X optical zoon

2.7 inch LCD screen

So you decide to take your camera out, and take a shot. But the result is not the same as what you see. Although it look simple, landscape photography can be tricky. Here is a list of tips to improve landscape photography:

Use Wide Angle Lens: Your eyes can see wider than a normal photography lens. To capture what you eyes are seeing, wide angle lens produce nearly a view what your eyes can see. However, extreme wide angle lens also produce distortion that sometime is annoying, but sometime add the dramatic effect to the picture.

So you can get really low or high to capture from another perspective. As for deciding to get the horizon low or high on the frame, you look at the sky, if it look interesting you should compose your horizon lower, if it look boring you can compose your shot upper horizon.
